Campus Ventures
The Campus Ventures program is a collaborative effort between the University of Southern Maine and MCED. The program is intended to give Maine-based technology companies a jump start in bringing commercially viable technologies to market by providing paid interns and mentor oversight for research, prototyping, and a range of other related tasks. This program does not fund or support primary research.Entrepreneurs must demonstrate a need for assistance with technology commercialization activities to be considered for the program. Companies with fully-designed products being manufactured in short-run or small-batch processes requiring manufacturing scale-up are also eligible for participation. Entrepreneurs or early stage businesses with existing products requiring enhancements or optimization are also encouraged to apply. Larger companies with established business lines may be referred to other University research, development, and commercialization programs at the discretion of the review committee. The program does not fund or support primary research.
Applicants must demonstrate a need for assistance with commercialization activities to be considered for this program. Candidates for this program will include those with fully-designed and short-run manufactured products in need of production scale-up, entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses in need of product enhancement or optimization, among others. Larger companies with established business lines may be referred to other University programs at the discreation of the review committee.
