MCE Announces Three New Board Members

(Portland, ME – March 8, 2023) Maine Center for Entrepreneurs (MCE) is excited to announce the appointment of three new members to their Board of Directors. Doug DeAngelis of Haverhill, MA, Chris Vickers of Brunswick, Maine, and Krystal Williams of Portland, ME joined the MCE board effective February 15, 2023.  

Doug DeAngelis is the Founder, past President and CTO of Lynx System Developers, Inc & Isolynx, LLC.  Doug founded Lynx Systems while in graduate school in 1992. Today, the Lynx camera is the most popular system of its kind in the world, having been used at all levels of competition from the Tour de France, Kentucky Derby, NASCAR, Winter Olympics, and World Championships in Athletics to thousands of high schools across the US. Doug sold his majority stake in Lynx to a private equity firm Dominus Capital at the end of 2021.  Doug has a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maine and a Masters in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from MIT.  Doug grew up in Orrington, ME and currently resides in Haverhill, MA 

Chris Vickers is President and CEO of STARC Systems, Inc. in Brunswick, ME.   STARC Systems is the leader in temporary modular wall containment systems for occupied renovations with offices and manufacturing in Brunswick, ME. The company has had significant growth through the US and Canada. Previously, Chris held several senior leadership positions including COO of Hancock Lumber – Retail, and Vice President of Merchandising at L.L.Bean. Prior to STARC, he was the President and CEO of The Vermont Country Store, a 66-year-old and family-owned multi-channel business. Chris has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A from Colby College.  Chris grew up in Caribou, ME and currently resides in Brunswick, ME.

Krystal Williams is Founding Manager of Providentia Group, a legal and business advisory firm focused on achieving economic dignity for all. Krystal is an accomplished and results-driven organizational strategist and attorney adept at leading cross-functional teams in complex environments. In 2020 she also founded the Alpha Legal Foundation, a non-profit organization with a mission to diversify Maine’s legal profession. In addition to MCE, Krystal is a board member for the ACLU of Maine, Coastal Enterprises, Inc., serves as a technology advisor for the Maine Technology Institute and is one of the board trustees at the University of New England. Krystal was named 2021 MaineBiz Women to Watch and a 2022 Mainer of the Year. Krystal currently resides in Portland, ME.
